I started intentionally practicing gratitude from 2019. I began to pay attention to the big and tiny events of my daily life and be grateful for it. Sometimes it’s a smile from a sanitation executive, sometimes it’s a really good sleep or great wine and company-even the minutest details. It has since become a part of my life, gratitude.
There were of course days that I didn’t see reasons to be grateful or so I thought but I will muster every strength I have to be present in that situation, to be aware of its hurt, maybe frustration, maybe disappointment, maybe not measuring and meeting up with my set goals, maybe loss or even death. But I will pause and say, I am grateful to be aware of what is happening for me.
This has changed my life and has also found expression in my relationship with others. Gratitude is big for me. And as a Faith person, I have also seen things move around when I approach them with the grace of gratitude.
So, as we are already half the year of 2024, I have been basking intentionally in gratitude for all of my wins and losses, yes losses and I must admit that gratitude has helped me see things differently, my perspectives of things and people and experiences change when I see them from a very grateful lens
Lastly, gratitude meditations by the way are very therapeutic
You are welcome!😊
